The customers and staff are the most important thing to The Sussex Ox and we want to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable during their visit. We also really want you to enjoy your experience and go away feeling happy and relaxed. Our beer garden is very spacious and we have kept most tables in excess of a two metre distance.
We have put much time and thought into how to be COVID safe and we want to ensure you that we take the scientific advice very seriously. We have also undertaken a Coronavirus risk assessment. Below is a summary of what to expect when you visit The Sussex Ox:
-A one-way entrance and exit system when possible
-Temperature checks for staff on their arrival.
-Staff will be wearing face masks.
-Customers are also required to wear face masks when entering and exiting the building. As well as when getting up to go to the toilet. Customers are only permitted to remove their face masks when seated at their table.
-Hand sanitiser available on entrance, exit, and at toilets
-A toilet queueing system
-A new garden bar has been installed
-Clear signage regarding social distancing, hand-washing, and visible cleaning schedules
-Doors and windows will be left open wherever possible
-Table reservations are mandatory (even just for drinks)
-All our tables are well distanced from one another, especially in our expansive garden
-Inside tables must be only be booked by groups of up to two households
-Outside tables have the addition of being able to be booked by six people from any number of households
-You will be greeted by a member of staff on entry who will show you to your table. Drinks and food orders will be taken at your table and brought to you.
-You will not be able to order food or drinks at the bar. Or sit or stand at the bar. This will avoid congestion and queueing.
-We will be operating a card only payment system
-Card machines will be cleaned after every use
-Food and drink menus will be on blackboards around the venue. We recommend you take a photo using your phone and then return to your table. Our menus are also published on our website daily
-The kitchen will maintain its strict food safety and hygiene standards. Undertaking regular deep cleans and keeping staff numbers to a minimum.
-All the ingredients we use in the kitchen are traceable. Many of which come from our own farm only two miles away in Jevington.
