From July 19th, following the end of most COVID-19 restrictions in England, we wanted to be clear about where we stand as a business on continued mask-wearing.

After much consideration, we have decided that face-coverings will be optional for customers and that staff will wear them when serving tables.

The scientific advice is to continue to wear a face-covering in enclosed spaces that are crowded. Taking this into consideration, we think our pub and its gardens provide ample space for our guests to feel safe in the company of staff and fellow customers around them.

During the summer, a majority of our service is outside, and our tables have two or more meters between each other even before COVID measurements were enforced.

Inside, and again particularly during summer months, the doors and windows provide plenty of ventilation through the pub, meaning customers who prefer to dine inside can enjoy a bright and airy space where tables are once again well distanced from one another.

However, on rainy, colder days where the doors may need to be closed and the pub becomes a slightly more enclosed space, it will be compulsory for all our staff to wear face coverings.

Customers will not be required to wear face coverings, unless they wish to do so.

There will also still be plenty of hand sanitiser available throughout the pub.
