I, along with a couple of our friendly locals, headed to Partridge Green near Horsham for the grand opening of the new Dark Star brewery last week. Beer-writer Roger Protz formally opened the new facility and we were all kept warm in the near-freezing temperatures with copious amounts of Dark Star's great beers including Winter Solstice and Hophead Amarillo. Whilst at the brewery I was able to finalise with Dark Star MD Paul Reid (pictured) the details of our new Sussex Ox unique ale, Oxhead. The beer is based on the famous Hophead, is a golden hoppy dry-finishing ale with an ABV of 3.8% and will be at our bar very soon!
